FraMCoS-7 Meeting Minutes

Board and General Assembly minutes from FraMCoS-7, Jeju, South Korea. Minutes for the General Assembly of IA-FraMCoS (2010) Date: May 27, 2010 Venue: Jeju Island, South Korea The President, Byung-Hwan Oh, called the assembly to order and welcome the members. He started with a brief report on FraMCoS-7. At the conference, there were a total

Experimental investigation for ECC improving shrinkage crack resistance and workability

This study focused establishing ECC mix proportion which enables us to control shrinkage cracking due to high unit water amount and to secure reasonable workability by overcoming relatively high fi- ber volume fraction. The former task was successfully achieved by involving anti-shrinkage admixture, and ef- fects of those admixtures were investigated via drying shrinkage tests

Relating tensile properties with flexural properties in SHCC

Strain hardening cementitious composites (SHCCs) have seen increasing field applications in past decade, yet existing quality control test methods for tensile properties are sometime difficult to implement. This paper presents a new simple inverse method for quality control of tensile strain capacity by conducting beam flexural test. It is shown through a theoretical model that

Study on size effect in bending behavior of ECC

In this paper, the bending test of Engineered Cementitious Composites (ECC) with PVA fiber is conducted to investigate the size effect for bending behavior of ECC. The main parameter is the size of the specimens. The test results show that the bending strength increases as the size of specimen decreases. To ex- press the wall

Shear transmission on crack surface of ECC

In this paper, method of single plane shear test under tensile stress as normal stress on crack surface is conducted to clarify shear transfer mechanism on crack surface of ECC (Engineered Cementitious Composites). The PVA fiber is adopted for ECC. From the test results, shear strength on crack surface is about half of tensile strength.

Effects of fluidity and placing method of HPFRCC on tensile performance test results

Tension tests were conducted on HPFRCC dumbbell-shaped specimens fabricated by shotcreting or casting to investigate the effects of their fluidity and placing method on the tension test results. Five HPFRCC mixtures with different fiber contents (2% and 1.7 % by volume) and fluidities were used. The differ- ences of the placing methods and flow values

Crack formation and tensile stress crack opening behavior of fiber reinforced cementitious composites (FRCC)

The formation and further development of cracking in strain hardening cementitious compos- ites under tensile loading strongly influences their mechanical behavior. The work presented in this paper de- scribes the crack formation in fiber reinforced cement composites (FRCC). The experimental results are ana- lyzed using a digital image analysis technique to gain detailed insight in
