MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS OF IA-FRAMCOS. MAY 30, 2016 Venue: Kerr-Clark Conference Center, Room 102, UC Berkeley Date and Time: Monday, May 30, 2016 – 08:30-09:00h Draft June 19, 2016. Revised and approved June 28, 2016 In attendance: President: Victor Saouma President elect: Gilles Pijaudier-Cabot Secretary: Gonzalo Ruiz Treasurer: Gianluca Cusatis Invited as FraMCoS-9 organizers: Eric Landis John Bolander (0) Introduction Victor Saouma welcomed everybody present and introduced the topics that were about to be treated. The agenda had been sent to all present by e-mail the previous day. The items in the agenda were: 1. Results of election of new members of the Board of Directors 2. Nomination of J. M. Chandra Kishen for FraMCoS Fellow 3. Bylaws elections 4. FraMCoS-9 financial update 5. Planning of the General Assembly Eric Landis completed the introduction giving a summary on the Conference attendance. The total number of abstracts submitted was 314, which led to 205 conference presentations and 178 papers published (6 still pending as of then). The total number of FraMCoS-9 registrants was 235 (86 of them were students) from 32 countries. (1) Results of election of new members of the Board of Directors Gonzalo Ruiz reported on the results of the election of new members of the Board of Directors, which was made by a survey that had been posed on line on May 18 to all the 325 members of the IA. There were 180 of them who voted to at least one and up to four of the six selected candidates for a position in the Board of Directors. The votes obtained by each candidate were: Votes Percentage Gianluca Cusatis 87 48.3 Marco di Prisco 84 46.7 J. M. Chandra Kishen 43 23.9 Eric Landis 102 56.7 Erik Schlangen 105 58.3 Shilang Xu 38 21.1 So, the newly elected Directors were Gianluca Cusatis, Marco di Prisco, Eric Landis and Erik Schlangen.
