Abstract

This paper describes an adaptive mesh refinement procedure by element method for a two-dimensional fracture mechanics problem. finite element approximation error can be estimated by calculating a error norm on the basis of the discontinues analysis components around each element boundary. The optimal can be realized by combining a mesh generator of unstructured with finite element computation, and adaptive mesh refinement is analysis stress filed at crack front tip on the fracture mechanics.
