Abstract

In this study, the effects of cover concrete cracks on corrosion distribution along the rebar and on the bond behavior of corroded rebar were investigated using tension specimens with rebar corroded either by a chloride spray or electrolytic corrosion. The following were examined: the relationship between the corrosion length and bondless length, the effect of tension cracks on the localization of corrosion, and the ef- fects of cracks and corrosion on the bond energy and the tensile rigidity.
