Abstract

A nonlinear fracture mechanics model is applied with linear elastic fracture mechanics solutions to analyze ural behavior of different composite materials. A cracked cross sec- tion of a beam in bending is considered and the constitutive relationship is evaluated, on varying the mechanical and geometrical properties. The influence of material composition on the behavior as well as the size-scale effects are studied.
