Abstract

A numerical model is proposed to study the behaviour of RC beams during the transition from the pre-cracked stage to the post-cracked one. During this transition, the softening branch of load-defection diagram, which is re- markable in lightly reinforced beams, is modeled by means of bond-slip and fracture mechanics and compared with experimental results.
