AB - The aim of the present work is to contribute to a better understanding of the fatigue behavior of cracked concrete. Cyclic direct tension tests of cylindrical specimens made of normal strength concrete as well as high- strength concrete with and without steel and carbon fibers were performed. The material response obtained in the direct tension tests is compared to the structural response measured in bending tests.
