Abstract

In a recent research project the fracture mechanical behaviour of several lightweight aggregate concretes with strengths ranging from 20 to 100 N/mm² and dry densities from 1.3 to 1.8 kg/m³ were investigated in order to determine the specific fracture mechanical parameters, such as fracture energy, characteristic length, uniaxial tensile strength and softening behaviour. This paper will give an overview on generalized statements and summarises the main results.
