Abstract

cohesive-crack idealization of quasi-brittle fracture processes, supplemented by a piecewise linear constitutive law for the interfaces, leads to linear complementarity problems (LCPs) as recurrent mathematical model governing both time-stepping (nonholonomic) and single-step (holonomic) analysis whenever the crack propagation path is a priori known.
