Abstract

Fatigue in concrete is characterized by a great variability of results in terms of fatigue life. Therefore, it is necessary to look for parameters to explain this dispersion. In this work, two types of parameters are proposed to estimate the flexural fatigue life in steel fiber-reinforced concrete. On the one hand, macroscopic damage indicators based on cyclic creep curves. On the other hand, parameters related to the arrangement of the fibers inside the matrix. The results show that the former predict more accurately the dispersion of N. However, the latter have the advantage that they are determined without the need to inflict prior damage to concrete.
