Abstract

we use a model with random heterogeneity in order to study the effect of material microstructure on the fracture process of concrete-like materials. This aim is reached by analysing correlations of the (global force-loading) response, that reveals large fluctuations. This analysis gives information on the internal length involved in fracturing that could not be obtained with a continuum approach.
