Abstract

Concrete screws are one of the post-installed anchors and relatively new as a fastening product for concrete. For better understanding the working principle and for efficiently developing innovative screw anchors, numerical simulation is applied to study the failure mechanism and load carrying capacity of concrete screws. The loading process during pullout tests and the pressure distribution along the screw at different load steps are investigated. The relation between damage in concrete and pressure distribution is revealed.
